Before I get started I need to vent… Last year in October Frank Ocean came to London to perform… I was waiting for the tickets to go on sale then BOOM NO MORE TICKETS! Then tickets that were on sale were in their hundreds! I then realised a few friends of mine had tickets and purchased them for their first selling price. On the day of the gig, I was in central London doing some retail therapy to suppress the disappointment </3. ANYWAY…
Well as you all know I am a huge fan of Frank Ocean. I always listen to his music when I’m in a mood because I feel like it’s very empathetic to how I feel, not just by the lyrics but the vibe I also feed off from it. Frank Oceans music sometimes helps inspire and push out expressing how I feel when it comes to executing my art work. I know I seem a bit hardcore, but it helps me get into the emotional mind frame I need to paint. After reading his story about his first love… It made me love his work even more because the inspiration of his music came from that story and it’s something I could relate to and I’m sure a lot of people can relate to it as well. The respect as risen for him, he’s in an industry where vile homophobia exists and I have a lot of love and respect for such courage. I’m looking forward to future works from him! I’m excited to listen to his studio version of Forrest Gump and I’d love to hear a studio version of his Lauryn Hill Cover – Tell him
On other news, I was waiting for a documentary to load and youtube and for once an advertisement I actually allowed to play caught my eyes and ears.
Jessie Ware – Wildest Moments… I love it. ENJOY
