This painting was created for a client who wanted to express her love and passion for someone. I started out with line work. Then painted the body. Red was added to show how the touch was affecting the body and the senses.

MIKEY ESPINOSA – O T-shirts and ENDURE sweaters
The weather is getting colder again and my Endure sweaters are back! My model Junoh is 6ft 4 and wears an XL sweater. Available at www.mikeyespinosa.bigcartel.com ! The T-shirt is associated with my latest Fairy Tale book “O&Love“
MIKEY ESPINOSA – UNCLE JACKS FARM
I was given the duty to paint the beloved land for a lovely family who owns this farm land, you can see how much they love their Earth! The canvas is painted on a 24 x 36 inch canvas using acrylic paint. The sky was the first section I painted and I was able to achieve a 3d like effect with the clouds because I painted a texture layer before the sky.
Different greens were used and yellows were added to ready made greens and blues to create a variation.
White and brown was used to highlight and add depth to the features. Below is the final piece.
MIKEY ESPINOSA – JUSTIN
An acrylic painting of my friend Justin, I was going through a period of not painting anything and I wanted to get back into painting faces, so I used my friends face to help me. Shout out to Justin Tang for letting me paint his amazing bone structure haha!
Mikey Espinosa – Mermaids Lure
I recently watched a Polish movie called THE LURE. It is a musical/horror/darkthriller movie which I feel will be a cult classic in the future. After watching it, I was fascinated with the idea of seduction and how mermaids use their voices to hypnotise their listeners. I also wanted to tell a story of unrequited love. Do you see it?
MIKEY ESPINOSA – WOMEN OF THE ISLAND
I wanted to celebrate femininity, slightly inspired by the Moana film and Te Fiti, the goddess island. I painted the figures like they were in the form of an island with the hairs falling over their bodies as if it were a waterfall. The woman in the centre faces the air as if she is giving air and a breath of life to the island.
MIKEY ESPINOSA – FILIPINO TRADITIONAL DRESSES
The first dress on the far left is the Singkil dress from the Maranao region. Popularly seen in a Singkil dance that involves bamboo.
The second dress is the Mestiza dress. It is the most modern traditional dress that has high shoulders and a neckline that reveals the colour bones. I decided to have the sleeves as part of an overcoat made of banana fibres, similar to the material commonly used for a barong.
The middle dress is the Maria Clara dress and was popular during the Spanish period. The Maria Clara was named after a Spanish heroine.
MIKEY ESPINOSA – MY LITTLE PONY – THE PRINCESS CELESTIA AND PRINCESS LUNA
For my nieces birthday, I wanted to paint something she loved, we had our favourite cartoons as a theme for our party. I had Sailor Moon and she had My Little Pony. My nieces favourite characters are Princess Celestia and Princess Luna who are both associated with the sun and moon. The Sailor Scouts are also protectors of the galaxy so I wanted space and the stars to be a common theme. I had the two Princesses attached to string to give the impression that they are floating or hovering around the moon. I also wanted to give the impression that Princess Celestia was making way for Princess Luna to take over the night with the moon.
Firstly I had to paint the moon and the sky and later I then added the stars.

MIKEY ESPINOSA – SAILOR MOON WITH THE SCOUTS
Now that I’ve redesigned the Sailor Scouts, I wanted to have the scouts painted together using watercolour. I took inspiration from Kevin Wadas composition of the Sailor Scouts floating across the galaxy looking like Celtic goddesses. Sailor Venus redesign takes inspiration from Greek mythology and ancient buildings, the shape of the columns that held up the temples are evident in the design of the shoes. Because she is the second in command after Sailor Moon and the personal bodyguard, I wanted her to be at the front, leading the group.
When I was redesigning Sailor Uranus, I kept thinking rock climber and digger. I gave her straps to emphasise this and sturdy looking shapes in her designs to show her strength. She floats behind her lover Michiru aka Sailor Neptune, always watching over her and her princess Sailor Moon.
Sailor Saturn always seemed like a dangerous and lonely character. I wanted her to face outwards to show her loneliness and disconnect from the other scouts, but I also positioned her close to Chibiusa since they have somewhat of a close relationship.
Sailor Pluto, the mistress of time soars above the scouts to show her power. She also playfully cares with Chibiusa who she loves and cares for.
Sailor Neptune to me represented beauty and the arts and I wanted her to be expressive with her pose. Her clothing is reminiscent of fins and I added the gold droplets to symbolise movement of water.
Our princess is of course in the centre with her hair fanned out showing her connection with everyone.
Sailor Mercury our techy nerd was the second Sailor Scout to be found. To me that shows her loyalty to Usagi, she’s been there since the beginning (Excluding Tuxedo Mask.) She is also the the techy girl and has a key role during battles.
Sailor Mars was the third to be found and I placed her in front of Sailor Moon because of her protective nature towards her. She’s a fiery personality too so I imagine she would be the first to enter the battle.
Sailor Jupiter is the power house and the strength of the inner Senshi, I put her above Sailor Moon because of her over protectiveness for her friends.
Sailor Chibimoon is care free and fun loving which is why I painted her with a smile and looking upwards. She is beside her best friend Sailor Pluto and close to Sailor Saturn but is behind the majority of the Scouts who love and protect her with all their might!
